Shisha clay head

The clay bowl is the original tobacco bowl of the classic shisha. It is usually equated with the multi-hole clay bowl, which is not strictly speaking correct, as many other clay bowls such as Phunnels or Vortex are often also made of clay, but are usually glazed. The clay bowl is often smoked in the classic way with aluminum foil, but it can also be used very well with a chimney top. Natural clay heads are very inexpensive and are often available for just a few francs. As the surface is not sealed, the natural clay head is porous and can absorb liquids such as molasses like a sponge. For this reason, the tobacco head may start to "bleed" after prolonged use, which means that the molasses is pressed through the full pores and can drip onto the charcoal plate.
