Who founded Moze Shisha?

Behind the company is the amazingly young founder Moritz Otten, born in 1997. He has a bachelor's degree in engineering and immediately put the knowledge he built on it into the development of his own hookah. The company was founded in 2019 and is now one of the most successful hookah producers in Germany. There is hardly a shisha store that does not carry the brand's hookahs and accessories in its range. What does the name "Moze" stand for?

The name Moze is a combination of "Moritz" and the first name of a companion, who however left the company Moze.

Moze Breeze One

The Moze Breeze One was the company's first model and was launched at the end of 2018. Unlike the current Moze Breeze Two, the One was a threaded shisha, meaning that the bowl and base could be connected with a twist cap. Since founder Moritz Otten had smoked many Russian plug-in bowl shisha himself, he decided in 2019 to conquer the German market with a plug-in pipe. At the time, this was still a gamble, as plug pipes were still little established. The advantage of Steckbowl water pipes is obvious: The base does not only fit the bowls from one manufacturer. You have the possibility to buy different products and to change the glass bowl according to your mood. Many hookah smokers now swear by this system, which was also installed in the current Moze Breeze Two.

Moze Breeze Two

The Moze Breeze Two was launched in 2019 and was extremely successful from the start. Often, deliveries that were planned for 6 months were sold out in a few hours. Behind this success is a well thought-out system but also entrepreneurial calculation. Moze was one of the first hookah brands to offer a modular system. Thanks to interchangeable components, you can assemble a Moze Breeze Two in 4 different ways. Depending on how you combine the elements, you get a different Blow Off Effect. So you can choose yourself whether the blow off smoke from the base to the charcoal plate, from the charcoal plate towards the floor, between the two charcoal plates or from the plate to the top (top plate purge) should be shot. This allows the inexpensive hookah to be optimally staged in spectacular pictures, which have spread like wildfire on various social media channels. One of the success factors of the Moze Breeze Two is therefore also its strong presence in social media.

Interchangeable sleeves for smoke column and mouthpiece

Moze recognized early on that many customers want a customizable hookah. One of the few points, which was criticized again and again in the Moze Breeze Two, is the fact that the base is made of plastic and not stainless steel. Even if the plastic is very high quality and durable, the base is of course not comparable to a stainless steel base from other manufacturers (eg Ocean Kaif) in terms of weight and feel. At the end of 2021, Moze has improved here and finally brought the base of the Breeze Two in stainless steel on the market. But as always, when Moze brings an innovation on the market, so the coveted pipes are sold out after a very short time. When the completely revised Moze Breeze Three will come on the market, is currently also still in the stars.
