What is CBD oil?
CBD oil or drops is one of the most popular CBD products in Switzerland and can now be purchased in pharmacies but also in various online stores. The ingredients of CBD oil are CBD and mostly other cannabinoids as well as a carrier oil, which primarily serves the dilution. High-quality oils are produced in organic quality and contain full-spectrum CBD, which means that in addition to CBD, other cannabinoids contained in the hemp plant such as CBG, CBD, CBDa and terpenes as well as plant substances are included. Full spectrum oils unleash the full plant power of the hemp plants and are therefore the best alternative.
How is CBD oil made?
How is CBD oil made from the hemp plant? For this purpose, in the best case, the CBD is extracted from high-quality hemp plants in organic quality. There are different extraction methods that can be used. The aim of all processes is to extract the CBD, which is contained in the hemp flowers as a carboxylic acid (CBDA). From the precursor CBDA (CBD Acid) a carbon dioxide molecule must be split off to obtain CBD. This can be achieved with an extraction by heating, solvents such as alcohol, oil or by filtration with water.
The effect of CBD oil
Basically, it is not allowed to make any statements about the effect of cannabidiol in Switzerland, because there are not enough scientific studies available. However, there are many consumers on the Internet who report a positive effect on health or well-being. Often a fundamentally calming effect, but also an improvement in sleep quality (help to fall asleep) is noted. There are also people who suffer from fibromyalgia (chronic pain disease) and report relief from pain thanks to the consumption of CBD products. The easiest way to find out if the components and ingredients of hemp products with CBD have a positive effect on your well-being is to test the products yourself. You can find more helpful information about relaxation, sleep and pain in connection with CBD on various websites on the Internet.
CBD Liquids - What is included
We give you an overview of the production and ingredients of various CBD oil products.
Full spectrum CBD OIL
Full spectrum CBD OIL is the name given to products that contain the ingredients of the "whole hemp plant". It usually consists of natural cannabinoids such as THCV (tetrahydrocannabivarin) CBN (cannabinol), CBD (cannabigerol), terpenes and flavonoids. Many consumers are of the opinion that full-spectrum oils produce a so-called entourage effect, i.e. unleash the full power of the cannabis plant. Full spectrum CBD oil is typically golden yellow and dark in color.
Broad spectrum CBD oil
When hemp products are called broad-spectrum CBD oil, they usually contain terpene, flavonoids and rather unknown cannabinoids. Products of this type have no THC content. Broad spectrum oils usually have a dark golden color and are great for promoting the entourage effect.
A CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD oil, as it does not contain any other cannabinoids, terpenes or flavonoids. The CBD isolate has a very light color compared to the broad or full spectrum CBD oil and can even be produced in the form of crystals or white powder.
Is CBD oil legal in Switzerland?
CBD oils may currently only be sold in Switzerland as chemicals or as cosmetics. CBD oil is no longer approved for food, dietary supplements and novel foods. Therefore, the oral intake of CBD oil may no longer be recommended in product descriptions. One can argue about the sense and nonsense of this legislation, but it is currently to be observed. There are also oral sprays, in which the active ingredients are absorbed through the oral mucosa. CBD cosmetics, which are applied to the skin of humans, as well as hemp flowers and hash, which contain no more than 1% THC are also legal in Switzerland. As an alternative to oil, products such as CBD hashbut also e-cigarettes, which are known as CBD vapes can be legally purchased and consumed.
Where can you buy CBD oils?
CBD products can be bought in pharmacies, drugstores, but also in various online stores. The bestsellers include oil, flowers, hash, vapes, but also cosmetics. The demand is constantly increasing and the cultivation of the plants and the production is becoming more and more professional. Many hemp plants are grown according to organic guidelines and thus provide the perfect source material for high-quality CBD products. THC-free novelties are regularly introduced to the market, which unfold the plant's power in an impressive way.
What should I look for when buying?
When buying CBD oils, you should pay attention to the CBD content and the THC content. The CBD content is crucial for the price. The higher the concentration, the more the product costs. From a high-dose product you need a smaller amount to achieve the same effect. Common CBD concentrations in oils are: 5%, 10%, 20% and 40%. The THC content must not exceed 1% in Switzerland. Many products contain only 0.2%, 0.5% or 0.9% THC. This very low THC content does not trigger any intoxicating or psychoactive effect.
Known CBD oil brands in Switzerland
We sell in our CBD Shop mainly CBD oils from Switzerland, which meet the highest quality standards. Qualicann is manufactured in the Zurich Oberland and produces products with excellent properties. Other well-known brands are Green Passion, B-Chill, Sweed, First Class, Herba di Berna, CBD Vital, Alpsbee, Naturalpes and many more.
What is the terpene Entourage effect rating?
The terpene entourage effect is the synergistic effect achieved by a rich mixture of plant substances. Terpenes in particular are responsible for enhancing the effect. Full spectrum CBD oil contains cannabinoid and terpenes in a particularly rich form and therefore promises a particularly good terpene entourage effect, which can contain the full plant power of hemp.
Explanation of terms
We explain the most important terms around the topic of hemp and CBD.
Cannabis is the name given to the hemp plant, which contains cannabinoids such as THC, which has an intoxicating and psychoactive effect. While cannabis containing THC is prohibited in Switzerland, THC-free CBD products are allowed in most dosage forms.
The CBD content describes the concentration or the proportion of cannabidiol in a product. The stronger the concentration, the greater the effect or the weaker you have to dose the product. For CBD oil, the CBD content is usually between 6% and 34%.
CBD products taste
CBD products typically have a taste of hemp or cannabis. Depending on the product, this can vary between mild and intense. According to Swiss law, the oral intake of CBD drops is not allowed anyway.
Organic CBD products from Switzerland
Many CBD products are produced in organic quality in Switzerland. The cultivation of hemp is subject to organic guidelines, which must be strictly adhered to. From Swiss organic hemp and hemp seed oil, high-quality CBD drops are produced in a complex production process, which have the best properties. Swiss CBD products in organic quality are in our opinion the best choice and offer you the guarantee to buy a sustainable and high-quality product.
Will the use of CBD oil show up on a drug test?
Virtually all drug tests detect THC, not CBD. If you want to be absolutely sure that a drug test will not come up positive, then you should use products with a THC content of 0%. Even products with a THC content of less than 1% have a very low chance of testing positive.
