The separate refill container is due to European Union legislation, which limits disposable e-cigarettes to 2ml of liquid, while e-liquid bottles are permitted up to a maximum of 10ml. As the ELFBAR AF5000 can be supplemented with a refill container in addition to the fixed 2ml e-liquid, the product complies with the European Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) and can be sold legally. With the new Tobacco Products Act the 2ml limit also comes into force in Switzerland.
