What is a hybrid vape?
Hybrid vapes are a combination of prefilled pod systems and disposable vapes. They typically contain a small, prefilled e-liquid tank with a capacity of 2 ml. This tank can be refilled using a refill container or continuously topped off during use. Unlike prefilled pod systems, the refill container does not contain a coil. The coil is usually permanently installed in the device or in the small pod. According to the TPD regulation, e-liquids in containers up to 10 ml with a maximum nicotine content of 20 mg/ml are permitted. Therefore, the new hybrid vapes comply with legal requirements and may be sold legally. 12 ml of e-liquid is sufficient for 1,700 to 5,000 “ puffs ,” offering you a long-lasting vaping experience.

There are now also manufacturers who offer 2+8ml liquid pods. The technology is identical, but the pods are more compact thanks to the smaller amount of liquid. The most successful model in Switzerland is the Elfbar Plus.

So-called 4-in-1 vape systems are also becoming increasingly popular. However, these are only hybrid systems to a limited extent.
